Northern Captures Lead Early To Defeat Wildcats

Wildcats fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-1 loss to Northern on Thursday. Northern scored on a double and a single by Hannah Morris in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Northern pitchers struck out four, while Wildcats sat down seven
Northern captured the lead in the first inning. McKenzie McCullen doubled on a 2-0 count in the first inning, scoring two runs.

Hannah Morris earned the win for Northern. She tossed seven innings, surrendering one run, three hits, striking out four, and walking one. Katie Agatucci took the loss for Wildcats. She went seven innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, and striking out seven.

Kayla Characklis, Katie Characklis, and Ella Pedersen each collected one hit to lead Wildcats.
Northern collected six hits. Jessica Wright and McCullen each collected multiple hits for Northern. Northern didn’t commit a single error in the field. Morris had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

East suffered its first conference loss of the season and falls to 5-3 (4-1) while Northern remained perfect rising to 7-2 (4-0). The Wildcats are idle next week for spring break. The Ladies have two more weeks of play before their break.
