Agatucci Throws Perfect Game As Wildcats Defeat Jordan
Wildcat ace Katie Agatucci was more than perfect in the circle as she led Wildcats past Jordan 20-0 on Monday. Agatucci also struck out every Falcon batter, throwing only 6 pitches over minimum in doing so. She also contributed to her own cause in the batter’s box with a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning that pushed the score count to 7.
Katie Characklis led Wildcats to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Characklis drove in runs on a Grand Slam homer in the first and a triple in the second. She also, in her 3rd at-bat, hit a double and was only deprived of the chance to hit for the cycle by the 3 run mercy rule.
Wildcats scored ten runs in the third inning. Wildcats scored on a double by Claire Pedersen, a single by Agatucci , a walk by Violet Kehoe, a single by Geena Kennihan, a passed ball , a triple by Pedersen, and a wild pitch.
Katie Agatucci earned the win for Wildcats with the three inning perfect game. . A Frauilu took the loss for Jordan. She pitched two innings, allowed ten runs on five hits and struck out two.
The Wildcats collected a total of 12 hits. Pedersen, Characklis, Kennihan, and Agatucci each collected multiple hits for Wildcats. Characklis and Pedersen all had three hits to lead Wildcats.
Wildcats stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Kehoe led the way with three.
The Wildcats travel to Durham tomorrow for a home and away conference finale double-header against 0-10 Riverside. East most likely will finish 11-1 in the PAC-6 and await the Northern (9-1) v. Cardinal Gibbons (7-3) home and away games later in the week to see if they will have to share the conference crown with the Ladies of Northern. If so a tie breaker will determine post-season seeding.
