Game Recap

Wildcats swamp Pirates as Agatucci throws no-hit shut out

Katie Agatucci followed up her perfect game performance a day earlier with a 3 inning mercy rule shortened no hitter against Riverside. She was a single strike from back-to-back perfect game but lost a 3-2 count and Pirate catcher, Michelle Terron, became the only Riverside runner to reach base. Katie picked up 6 strikeouts along the way to the 16-0 victory in the first game of a double header.

While the ‘Cats took great advantage of 6 free passes by the Pirates their bats were still very productive, rapping out 9 hits. Claire Pedersen went 3 for 3 and Violet Kehoe went 2 for 2, both netting 3 RBIs apiece. They also ran at will once on base. Pedersen had 5 stolen bases and Kehoe had 3.

Katie Characklis nearly repeated her feat from last night’s Jordan game as she hit another inside-the-park home run. Tonight’s version was merely a 3 RBI blast, although she did collect another RBI in the first inning to end up with 4 on the night.

Other Wildcats with hits on the night; Tammie Thompson, Agatucci, Geena Kennihan and Jenny Suwanmanee.

(note – scheduling format did not allow proper home/away placement for this event,  East was the home team)
