Early Lead For Wildcats Sets Stage For Victory Over Northern
Wildcats jumped out to an early lead over Northern and took home a 9-6 victory on Wednesday. Wildcats scored on a single by Katie Characklis and a home run by Ella Pedersen in the first inning.
Wildcats collected 12 hits and Northern had eight in the high-scoring affair.
Katie Agatucci got the win for Wildcats. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out six.
Hannah Morris took the loss for Northern. She allowed 12 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Wildcats hit two home runs on the day. Agatucci went for the long ball in the third inning. Pedersen had an inside-the-park home run in the first inning.
Wildcats saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Claire Pedersen, Characklis, Pedersen, Agatucci, and Kayla Characklis each managed multiple hits for Wildcats. Pedersen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wildcats in hits. Wildcats stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Pedersen led the way with two.
Northern totaled eight hits in the game. Jessie Woller, McKenzie McCullen, and Hanna Arendt all managed multiple hits for Northern.
