Wildcats defeated Broughton 19-0 on Wednesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Sneha Sinha induced a groundout from Abby Lehr to finish off the game.
Sydney Lang collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Wildcats to victory. Lang hit a grand slam in the first, hit a grand slam in the first, singled in the third, and doubled in the fourth.
In the first inning, Wildcats got their offense started when Lang homered on a 1-0 count, scoring four runs.
One bright spot for Broughton was a single by Allie Carmack in the second inning.
Helena Harrison toed the rubber for Wildcats. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
Hannah Ludwikowski was in the pitcher’s circle for Broughton. She went three innings, allowing 15 runs on six hits and striking out five. Alondra Barrientos threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Wildcats tallied two home run on the day. Lang went for the long ball in the first and first innings.
Wildcats racked up ten hits on the day. Lang and Ella Pedersen all had multiple hits for Wildcats. Lang led Wildcats with four hits in four at bats.
